| | 為何在WFO、AAO、EOS、TAO、JOS、IOS、APO…等等之矯正學會需要成立專科醫師制度？因為在WFO的「WFO Guidelines for the Establishment of New National and Regional Orthodontic Boards」已經敘述的非常清楚：
1. 首要的目標是照顧並保護各個國家的國民健康。
Certifying board do not serve the organization of specialists that they represent, but serve the public for whom specialty cares.
2. 為了達到增進全民健康福祉，則必須經過專科醫師制度建立，以提昇齒顎矯正之醫療水準。
The WFO believes that increased awareness of the importance of orthodontic boards through the establishment of these guidelines will elevate the standards of orthodontic practice.
